Sunshine Coast, as the name suggests, is blessed with mostly sunny, warm weather, endless white sandy beaches and abundance of marine wildlife.
If you want something a bit more than dipping your toes in sand, if you're into something really special, don't miss the hatchlings season in the Sunshine Coast.
At the Mon Repo Turtle Centre, the guides will take you down to the sandy beaches, where you can witness that magic moment when hundreds of baby hatchlings crack out of their egg under a blanket of stars.

These tiny Loggerhead, better than as the Green Sea Turtles will between January and June and craw their way to the turbulent sea. Only 1 in a thousand will make it to adulthood, and that battler will come back here some three decades later to lay the eggs.
Like most living beings, these amazing creatures knew their purpose and their destiny the moment they crack out of their egg.
The turtles know very well where they should be, but occasionally they wander farther south as they can get sidetracked by the light from the nearby city Bargara.

At Mt Repos Turtle Centre, light is kept at minimal. Thanks to the volunteers here and their conservation efforts at Mt Repos Turtle Centre, each year thousands of hatchings can make their way to the sea, and the grown=ups and safely lay their eggs.
